In painting, drawing, collage and objects, Käthe Schönle explores the relation and ambivalence in human interaction. In doing so, Schönle questions individual and social decision and action systems and examines their connection with internal, external, artificial and natural structures.

Born in Riedlingen in 1976, artist Käthe Schönle studied fine arts and visual communication at the Kunsthochschule Kassel until 2006, graduating with degrees in painting and illustration. Her work has since been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally and is represented in private and institutional collections. Schönle has received several scholarships and grants, including the Art Prize of the City of Kassel, and has been an artist in residence in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and China. She lives and works in Vienna since 2006.

On the occasion of the awarding of the Zonta Culture Award to the artist on 24.03.23 in the castle of Ummendorf, the Museum Biberach shows in the exhibition »Käthe Schönle. Balancing a Drop of Water« small-format paintings and collages in addition to a wall piece in an installation presentation in the museum foyer.
