Liebherr is a unique industrial phenomenon from Upper Swabia. At seven locations in the region, more than 17,000 people produce cranes, excavators, concrete pumps, aircraft parts, components and refrigerators.
But it does not stop there: the family-owned company Liebherr, with its headquarters in Switzerland, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction machinery, a corporate group with more than 150 individual companies on all continents, over 54,000 employees and an annual turnover of more than 14 billion euros. The company was founded by Hans Liebherr in 1949 in Kirchdorf an der Iller and moved to Biberach in 1954. Liebherr celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2024.
The exhibition »Liebherr – Turning Ideas into Reality« expresses the special connection between the city of Biberach and the Liebherr company, takes a look behind the scenes of the production facilities, encourages reflection on the secret of the company's success and, with an extensive framework program, creates a forum for discussion on the economic issues of our time that affect us all.
